The Houston Public Library’s 2016 Summer Reading Program , EXERCISE YOUR MIND, begins on Tuesday, May 30th and runs until Saturday, August 27th. Our theme this year is all about health, wellness, and exercise. We’ll be hosting special events from 2 to 3 pm every Monday from June 13th through August 15th introducing kids to everything from juggling, hula hooping, and yo-yoing to t’ai chi, yoga, and qigong. We’ll also have our popular Bookhounds program in our children’s room on Mondays from 7 to 8 pm. And be on the look-out for the library’s new Book Bike! Thanks to a SELCO Legacy Community Collaboration grant, staff will be pedaling around town attending outdoor community events with books for kids to check-out on site. We’ll be posting more about our upcoming Summer Reading Program as the launch date approaches. In the meantime, call the library if you have any questions!
